The Races has been a carnival event on Waiheke Island on and off for over 100 years. The event is presently organized by Onetangi Beach Races Incorporated who is a Society organized and operated by members of Waiheke Rotary Club. Funds raised by the Incorporated Society are passed on to the Waiheke Rotary Trust who, in turn, passes the monies on to needy causes in the community. The funds raised from the Beach Races are predominantly from sponsorships together with the sale of race packs and money raised on the day of the Races.
Becoming a Friend of the Onetangi Beach Races means that for a sponsorship fee of $300, as part of a group of 10 sponsors, you have your name, or the name of your company, included in the advertising material. You also are invited, together with a guest of your choice who is not a sponsor, to a “complementary lunch” in a hospitality tent on race day. We are hoping that we can get together as many groups of 10 sponsors as possible for the 2011 races.
